Yaesu FTDX-1200 Shortwave/50MHz Transceiver
The FT-DX1200 is another transceiver in the successful FT-DX series. As a smaller model of the FT DX3000D the FT-DX1200 benefit from its features. Also in this transceiver DSP and fast antenna tuner was included.
Also in the FT-DX1200, the new TFT display is again so that you can see the bandscope and all settings of the transceiver with one view. The extensive menu is very easy to use because of the size of the display and the navigation through this very simple. All menu items are displayed clearly and using the navigation key right next to the diplay are also sub-items for the basic setting easy to reach.
In contrast to the FT-DX3000D, the FT-DX1200 has no 2nd Frequencie Display.The entire right front side represents controls and the VFO knob available and so allows for a stress-free handling.
For Digital modes FT-DX1200 is well prepared. Directly on the TFT display can even encode and decode RTTY and PSK31 signals with the optional FFT-1 unit. Even CW can be read directly on the display. Over the various sockets on the back, the transceiver is ready to go to work with a computer and a soundcard interface.
The FFT-1 is an optional board for installation the trensceiver. The FFT-1 enables the following additional functions::
- RTTY and PSK31 Decoder, display received text on the LC display
- CW Decoder, display received text on the LC display
- CW Auto Zero, automatic tuning on zero beat in CW
The DVS-6 is an optional board for installation in the transceiver. The DVS-6 is a voice recorder/keyer which allows to record and transmit 5 audio tracks, each up to 20 sec long. This is especially useful for a contest. The DVS-6 can not be controlled via the front panel of the transceiver, it requires the optional FH-2 keyboard.

The frequency extension of a radio (TX open) is done on explicit request by the customer.
Amateur Radio transceivers are usually not specified for use outside the amateur bands. In some cases the radio and especially the final amplifier or output filters can be damaged when transmitting outside the amateur bands. These damages are not covered by any warranty.
The manufacturer warranty might be voided in some cases as well.
